Edit by vnctdj nightmesh found a solution to make this game work for multiplayer To be convenient, here is a copy/paste of his tutorial nightmesh WroteHello and Good evening. So for the last day or so I've been testing out this game and finally got it to work. Now I'm not much of a guide making type person so I wont explain a lot of stuff that doesn't have anything to do with how to connect to this game. Meaning I wont go over basic stuff. If you want a basic guide for most adhoc games then follow this one as I'll be using stuff from it and expecting you know what I'm talking about. Okay first off. This game's multiplayer is a bit a weird from MH. See the host isn't the one that makes the game here. The host has to join the game that one of his clients have made. That doesn't mean he and the clients don't use his ip addressbe it tunngle, hamachi or what ever you using. You still following the same setup you would for any other game just actually playing it is backwards in. So how about I show you instead with helpful pictures. After you set up the basic stuff and figured out who's hosting while keeping in mind he's going to be joining and not starting you just both need to start up your games. It doesn't matter who starts what. I always started with the host just because it felt normal to me. Host 1. Go to multiplayer. 2. Choose the top option and after that you pick one character to play as and can change their gear and equip a summon. You can change it later so nothing is set in stone here. Well not the character I think. 3. You should be here now. At this point you should see your client already in a mission. If not it should look blank like this. Set the game to alternative speed. I set mine to 50% because it was taking way to long but you can try 75% and see if it works for you. After you get a black screen set it back to normal. If those two don't work go lower. Okay now for connecting. When you select your friends game pick the top options for the next two questions. After that you just wait. It should take about a maybe a min to connect. Don't get discouraged if it takes to long. Anything longer then 2 mins is a sign something didn't go right. Now on to the client. Client 1. Your going to be setting up the game so just go to missions and pick one. If you have 3 options like this screen don't pick the last one because you wont be able to have someone join I believe. I'll try it later. 2. After you set up your party and stuff and start your mission you get to this screen. Pick the top option here and the top one on the next screen. After that when you get in game set your alternative speed to 50%-75%. Which ever works for you because 50% worked for me. Once one of your party members disappear you can set the speed back to normal. Don't worry about it dcing or anything. You both can actually play the game on alt speed and it doesn't care. Proof Mission Leader Host after joining Leader Help Hand Now this game uses a timer for what ever reason so you can play together forever. It gave me 15 seconds the first time I tired it. To get around this you can use his CWcheat to fix that. Only the person the person who started the mission should have this turned on. _C0 GUEST1 Time [Mission Leader Only] _L 0x10413438 0x001B7720 _C0 GUEST2 Time [Mission Leader Only] _L 0x10413458 0x001B7720 Reminders When joining a game both of you have to have the alt speed set to anything below 100%. Once joined you can go back to normal. If you have any questions or would like to help me test out having 3 people at once since I could only test with myself and another laptop I'd be happy if you sent me a message. 02-06-2014, 0419 PM This post was last modified 02-06-2014 0420 PM by GuenosNoLife. Okay I did some testing around and its not working like it should. I know it does work but I have to figure out the kinks. When I do I'll post an updated guide. I would like someone to help me test out the multiplayer in a private room. I have a hunch the reason it doesn't work is because of high ping. When I got it to work for me before it was with a neighbor at his house and me at mine. We live so close that ping wasn't an issue. So I've made a private room on tunngle to test it out. If that doesn't work then I'll have to try using my public ip and skip tunngle all together. There have been almost 1200 individual changes since most of which fixing game bugs or improving performance or etc. But anyway, my understanding is that other people can run it fine with and the demo runs fine for me as well in general. 20 FPS is pretty bad for this game. What GPU do you have? I use an intentionally underclocked 9800 GT. -[Unknown] Just to chime in, I can pretty much pinpoint slowdown to texture scaling. I use a relatively capable but weak IGP Ivy Bridge Intel HD graphics, and I have no problems running FF Type-0 on x3 resolution and FXAA. Smooth 30fps all around with minor dips to 28-29 from time to time. But as soon as I enable even the slightest amount of texture scaling, even on x2 resolution, I get below-20 dips in FPS on scenes that use effects even the save menu screen, which has effects in the background Main PC Pentium g2020 Ivy Bridge dual core, ghz, Intel HD Graphics, 4 GB DDR3 Ram usable, W7 64bit Secondary PC C2D e8400 dual core ghz, nVidia GT 240 GDDR5, 4 GB DDR2 Ram, W7 64bit Laptop AMD Turion X2 dual core ghz, ATI Xpress 1150 IGP, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM usable, W7 32bit 06-12-2014, 0121 AM This post was last modified 06-12-2014 0121 AM by ilqsilqs. RE Final Fantasy Type-0 I'm having a very odd bug involving textures all of a sudden. I'm about 3 hours in on the merged ISO patched in english. After running around on the world map and then getting into a battle or entering a town I end up with textures wigging out. Sometimes my character is kinda transparent. Others the textures get randomly moved around and confused. Here are some screenshots. http // Now to my settings. I'm using the build Everything listed here is on. Texture scaling is expensive. There may be ways to improve it. I don't use my IGP, but I think it shares system RAM. Texture scaling especially above 2x can start using quite a lot of VRAM, and if you're already amping up render resolution, you may burn through any limit fast. It may be worth checking your EFI settings to see what the max dynamic video memory allocation is. That said, I think this game currently has a problem where texture scaling is hurting performance unexpectedly much. -[Unknown] 06-12-2014, 0358 AM RE Final Fantasy Type-0 is it only me or do you experience when youre in the world map when youre going to the left side regions you end up somewhere on the sea? and the only choice is go back to the academy 06-12-2014, 0502 AM This post was last modified 06-12-2014 0506 AM by [Unknown]. RE Final Fantasy Type-0 So, I specifically checked. In the demo, in a fairly normal area, on my desktop 1x render / no texture scaling 282 MB VRAM may be other apps, let's call this baseline. 7x render / no texture scaling 423 MB VRAM 10x render / no texture scaling ~480 MB VRAM, unplayably slow 1x render / 3x texture scaling 321 MB VRAM 1x render / 4x texture scaling 386 MB VRAM 7x render / 4x texture scaling 495 MB VRAM, still playable Not super scientific numbers, but my point is just that both render resolution and texture scaling cost GPU memory. Also, both are exponential. 10x render resolution requires 100 times as much memory for render buffers. 5x texture scaling requires 25 times as much memory for textures actually possibly more because scaling requires 16-bit textures to be converted to 32-bit, which doubles the memory requirement as a baseline. Keep that in mind when choosing your quality settings. Also, texture scaling will slow down every time a new texture is used and must be scaled, of course, but that's outside of sheer memory usage. -[Unknown] 06-12-2014, 0507 AM RE Final Fantasy Type-0 06-12-2014 0205 AMDjango117 Wrote I'm having a very odd bug involving textures all of a sudden. As people mentioned multiple times before your post The main culprit in bad performance is Texture Scaling and Render Resolution. But thats pretty obvious because these eat the most VRAM. Its the same for every emulator, like PCSX2 Dont use Multi threading and be careful with certain Post Processing on the World Map. Adjusting Internal Clock Speed can help. Dont use cheat codes, unless ure smart about it and especially dont use any 60 fps codes. 06-12-2014, 0125 PM RE Final Fantasy Type-0 06-12-2014 1159 AMInzanity Wrote No, not really.
